Basic Eye Examination – this will include a series of tests to assess your vision and check for eye diseases. Each test will assess a different aspect of your vision or eye health.

Refraction – this is an assessment of your refractive error to determine a lens prescription that will give you the sharpest and most comfortable vision. This test can also determine that you do not need corrective lenses.

The doctor may use a computerized refractor to estimate the prescription for your glasses or may use a technique called retinoscopy. In retinoscopy, the doctor will shine a light into your eye and measure the refractive error by evaluating the movement of the light reflected by your retina back through your pupil.

Any refraction assessment is fine-tuned by having you look through a masklike device that contains wheels of different lenses. The doctor will ask you which combination of lenses gives you the sharpest vision.

Prescription Glasses – once a basic eye examination and the refraction has been completed, you may proceed to order your prescription glasses. There are eyeglass frames available at our clinic.

Diabetic Eye Check-up – a comprehensive dilated eye exam will be conducted for this type of test. Drops will be placed in your eyes to widen/dilate your pupils and allow the doctor to get a better view inside your eyes. The eye drops have an effect for a couple of hours and may cause your vision to blur until they wear off.

Dry Eye Treatment – dry eye disease is a condition that occurs when your tears are not able to provide adequate lubrication for your eyes. Dry eyes may occur if you do not produce enough tears or if you produce poor-quality years. This instability in your years may lead to inflammation and damage to the eye’s surface.

Treatment for dry eyes may make you more comfortable. Treatments can include eye drops and lifestyle changes.

If you have a stinging, burning, or scratchy sensation in your eyes, a sensation of having something in your eyes, stringy mucus in or around your eyes, eye redness, sensitivity to light, difficulty wearing contact lenses or driving at night, watery eyes, and/or blurred vision or eye fatigue – you might want to book your appointment and visit us.

Cataract Surgery – this is a procedure where the lens of your eye is removed and replaced with an artificial lens. A cataract causes the lens of your eye to become cloudy and will eventually affect your vision.

Cataracts can cause blurry vision and increase the glare from lights. If a cataract makes it difficult for you to carry out your normal activities, the doctor may recommend having cataract surgery.

LASIK Surgery – this is the best-known laser refractive surgery to correct vision problems. This can be an alternative to prescription glasses or contact lenses.

LASIK procedures by Dr. Pius Ocampo are conducted at The Lasik Surgery Clinic, located within the Angeles University Foundation Medical Center in Angeles City, Philippines. This facility operates as a subsidiary under the Singapore Medical Group.
